Positive Thinking

Positive thought is a powerful tool to have in your armoury.

If you Google positive thought then it comes up with a myriad of options and ideas on how to boost your thoughts with the power of positivity.

Being negative is always the easiest path to take, and remaining positive in spite of what is going on around you can be the hardest task to master.

All you have to do is switch on the television and you instantly brainwashed into thinking that the world is doomed and everyone, everywhere is full of hatred and greed. While this may be true, it is surely unhealthy to worry about a Donald Trump remark when you live in the UK; or how a bank has earned billions while trading off of people’s debt misery.

Once news was local, and you had to deal with issues that affected your community directly. This is no longer the case and we are having to adapt our brains in order to process the information on a grander scale.

So does this lead to unnecessary worry and concern for the greater good of mankind?

There does seem to be a school of thought which suggests that the idea of positive thought is not effective and could be deemed as destructive to some; though you could argue that the naysayers of taking such an action could be deemed overly negative.

While it is too easy to dwell on negative thoughts, this is a draining task to undertake, and if you find yourself in a low mood you would be more tired than if you were feeling higher.

Being positive can be tough, it requires you to think all of the time as negative thoughts flitter past your eyes like some sort of butterfly from hell, a reaper of bad wind that halts your progress into the power of being positive.

But being positive is also extremely rewarding, and you will find, if you can remain in a positive frame of mind, that good things will happen to you. I’m not suggesting that the power of thought can win you the lottery, but in small ways the universe can help you through life, reducing stress and making things work in ways that you want them too.

You can control the outcome of many events that happen in your life, by taking ownership of your own happiness you can then in turn affect the happiness of those around you. It is all about state of mind, and it can be life-changing if you make it your purpose to see life through a different lens.

Of course, it does not stop the nasty things from happening; every now and then you will come across people that rub you up the wrong way, events that are out of your control and things that just seem to piss you off. But, positive change can alter your perception of these things, and with a little extra effort, the world could be a sunnier, happier place to live in.
